Perry has over twenty years of experience at Parsons Electric in roles ranging from estimator to Lean Executive Director. He is a certified instructor for the Lean Construction Institute and co-authored leadership books for trade contractors with George Trachilis. Perry has mentored numerous individuals and teams nationwide in Lean and P4 Planning on various projects of all sizes.

Perry effortlessly bonds with everyone through his knack for storytelling, winning over even the skeptics. His genuine warmth and heartfelt kindness leave a lasting impression on all he meets.

Rand Eaton

Rand is an Accredited Kanban Trainer, Certified Scrum Professional, and Agile Coach. He takes pleasure in collaborating with organizations and teams and likes to refer to himself as an “Epiphany Engineer.” With over 20 years of experience as a project manager in the tech industry, he has assisted numerous businesses, ranging from small shops to large enterprises, in integrating flow-enhancing methodologies into their operations.

Rand brings a unique view to the Kata Team. As a coach, he's positive, a great listener, and a skilled facilitator. He effectively conveys agile principles while helping groups and individuals achieve continuous improvement. His warm personality and interactive style enhance the learning atmosphere and motivate engagement.

Joel Moryn

Joel embarked on his career in the construction industry at the age of 18. He is a licensed professional engineer with over 40 years of experience in the industry, including 25 years serving as the CEO of a national electrical and technology contracting firm. He has witnessed significant evolution and advancement within the sector.

As an accomplished leadership developer and safety program implementer, he has a deep understanding of core focus areas for leaders including culture change dynamics.  As well, he has weathered through the inside of M&A and has initimate understanding of better practices for integrations. 

Joel brings a comprehensive viewpoint and top-tier leadership training and coaching option to the Kata Team. His boundless, positive outlook will aid your team in achieving their fullest potential.  Joel is eager to share the valuable experiences and lessons he has gathered throughout his career. 

Hal Macomber

Hal has extensive experience working with teams towards developing Lean and Continuous Improvement mindsets from the inside-out.  He studied quality and just-in-time production in Japan, which introduced him to these Lean principles many years ago.

Hal's diverse roles across various industries have given him firsthand experience with different operations systems and cultures. He authored "Pocket Sensei, Mastering Lean Leadership with 40 Katas" and introduced new perspectives and ontological redesigns to the AEC Industry. His expertise in Lean has driven significant productivity improvements and organizational interventions.

Hal is dedicated to Lean aspects that focus on people development. His commitment to respecting individuals and creating supportive systems is key to improving workplace efficiency and satisfaction.

Todd Anderson

Rick Bernett

Rick has over 30 years experience in operations management positions coupled with a solid teaching background. He managed in a wide variety production environments including: high volume assembly, job shops and process operations. His experience crosses through many industries. 

His work has focused on small to mid-sized operations, particularly those with strong engineering components. He specializes in complex business development, engineering, and manufacturing processes. Rick has executed various operational assessments and continuous improvement projects using Lean methodologies with a keen eye for focusing efforts on constraints that limit business potential.

In addition to his work with Kata Consulting, he currently teaches both undergraduate and graduate level courses in operations management at a local university. Rick is an avid reader of all things related to business management and cognitive psychology. He is a senior and cherished advisor to the Kata Team.

Tim Erickson

For many years, Tim ran his own graphic design company, partnering with small businesses and non-profits to create their marketing plans. He has over a decade of experience as a website developer and has been actively involved in Open Source software projects. Currently, he sits on a Project Management Committee focused on software development.

Tim thrives on creating interactive learning environments and offering people a secure platform to explore fresh ideas. He is a master at hosting and moderating rapid learning cycles using business simulations. These “learning games” have been designed for impactful connections to the most critical operations concepts in a fraction of the time it would take to learn “on the job”. 

Tim also runs his own venture, Triplo, specializing in website design, development, maintenance, and support. He empowers his clients with a unique, simple, and powerful website framework for effortlessly organizing and expanding their content on their own.

Additionally, Tim dedicates a significant portion of his time to investigating and experimenting with digital AI solutions and technologies.
