You want to lead your team towards a better way to work.  You want to shift the team from a reactive style of work to adopt more proactive approaches. You want to make a change that your team embraces and has lasting and impactful benefits for years to come.  And, you want the change to go quickly and for it to stick.

Changing a team's work routines from reactive to proactive behavior is not a simple task.  It is generally done by adopting a new system that is well thought out, validated, and repeatable.  A new system that includes tools, procedures, and methods in order to reduce the guesswork and provide simple straightforward guidance on what to do and why it is being done.

But, shifting systems of work is more than just implementing a new process. It requires a mindset shift and changing behaviors. It challenges the team to examine their existing work methods and explore the embedded beliefs, patterns of doing things, work routines, and hidden agendas that are entrenched.  Leading this shift is difficult and risky which often causes us to maintain the status quo.  To make matters worse, the change needs to happen WHILE work is actively flowing through the system that we want to change.

For an internal manager making a work system change will demand enormous amounts of time, patience, and test your personal skills.  Team members with good intentions will often try to undermine the change, slow it down, or invalidate it.  Managers often fail or burnout.

Kata Consulting is dedicated to assisting your team through these operational changes. Our experienced coaches comprehend the intricacies of change, the resistance it may encounter, and the methods to expedite team integration.

We employ both process-oriented and human-centric approaches to ensure your team not only adapts to the new work system but also embraces and takes ownership of it. We offer the necessary support and patience for your leaders and the team as they transition their mindsets and work habits to the future desired state.

Team coaching is about empowering leaders and teams by giving them essential tools and techniques to succeed together. Focus is not only on individual skills but also on harnessing the collective strength of the team.

Kata trains, coaches, mentors, then backs away as your team takes the reigns in the new work system.

Team Kanban Work Management System
The Kanban Method is a visual workflow management system that helps teams improve the flow of work through continuous improvement.  The Kanban method uses a Kanban board, which is a physical or digital tool that visualizes the workflow. On the board, tasks are represented by cards that move through stages of work, which are represented by columns.

A Kanban coach can aid in different aspects of Kanban, such as establishing and preserving a Kanban board that reflects your work and priorities, defining and managing your work in progress (WIP) limits to prevent bottlenecks and overloading, implementing feedback loops, and identifying metrics to monitor and enhance your flow and quality.

This coaching is generally done with leaders and team members who deliver work together as a team.
